Fat girl gone healthy

UPDATE (after 8 months of hiatus)

I’m in a completely different (MUCH more positive) mindset than I was 8 months ago. So many things eventually changed for the better but I had to endure a while of general cruddiness to make it here. Now that I’m on the much better side of the tunnel, I’m ready to re-dedicate myself to my health. This time it isn’t about weight - it’s about health (though I won’t deny that I still love seeing the number go down) because I’ve come to love my body and embrace it in all its forms.

I’ve been steadily hovering around 266 - 270 (and Yes! That means I’ve lost 100 lbs so far!!). In the next couple of days I’m gonna make an entirely new blog, focused on the health and well-being of my body, mind and spirit. You’ll see what I’m talking about once I actually start the blog.

Just wanted to let anyone who still follows me to know that I’ll be back in a shortly!

fuckyeahmeditation:

“Hitting the pavement as they say is a great way to get back into shape. I know this is true as I used to be a marathon runner. Before I made the transition into yoga it was all I really did for activity until I saw the toll that it was taking on my body. My knees, my ankles—I felt way older than I should have. So I gave it up until I came across the Chi Running. Chi Running is a great yoga combo because it teaches you to relax while you’re running, making it almost meditative and rather relaxing.”

Doing a research paper on MSG…

and it’s making me so paranoid of absolutely everything I eat. O___________O

It’s so hard to avoid!

D’awww how’d you know I love surveys? (Prolly ‘cause I posted one not too long ago.) I feel so special. ^.^

Let’s see here…

1. what school do you go to?  Marshall University in Huntington, WV (Plz2not find and kill me)

2. what are you studying? Photography and graphic design

3. what do you do for FUN? Honestly? Hang out with my boyfriend and smoke weed and play video games and jam to sweet tunes and do arts. :>

4. what’s your favorite exercise? I absolutely love listening to awesome music on the elliptical. It’s basically like dancing, especially with songs with a faster beat. I get down.

5. what’s your favorite healthy food? Sushi fa sho.

6. favorite color? It was red for a long time, but this is a new time in my life and my new favorite color is turquoise/teal.

7. ONE THING that has been most helpful to you in getting healthy? Focusing on getting healthy and not just losing weight. Turns out when you eat healthier and exercise, weight loss happens naturally. I used to obsess about numbers but just focusing on getting healthy has really chilled me out about it.

8. your best work-out cardio song recommendation?

EDIT: Yeah can I go ahead and change that to this: (I will be eternally indecisive about this)

First appointment with my psychologist in over a year

I’m so excited! I know that sounds weird, but I used to go talk to her every week since I was 13. I haven’t been able to go see her for a year because I don’t have health insurance (booo) and I have to pay out of pocket to see her this time, but it’s totally worth it. I have way too much to catch her up on. I have so much advice I need from her.

To love myself completely. Yup, there will be days I feel puffy fat, or my face will be spotty, but I will still love myself.

To nourish and not starve my body. After doing this 2 weeks of maintenance eating I realized how much food my body really needs. (i.e. listen to Alex/

This times one million.

Dearest Fitbud,

First off, thanks for the motivation! True dat, double true.

Secondly, yes my weekend was AWESOME. But I’m back into gear now. My goals for this week are:

  1. Finish my homework on time (preferably early)
  2. Work out at least 5 days.
  3. Eat well.
  4. Keep myself accountable.
  5. Minimal video games.

As long as I stick to those goals this week will be phenomenal. :>

Love,
Kati

I miss accountability.

So here’s some proof of my workout tonight. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical and ?? reps of various arm exercises (I didn’t keep track, but I’m guessing it was around 70 reps all together). I kept it kinda easy compared to how I used to kick it at the gym, but I’m slowly getting back into the groove of exercise.

And as you’ll see, more proof in the form of my ball o’ poof hair. It pretty much explodes when I work out.

VACATION OVER. :( But it was way fun.

Pictures!

Finally home,

we got lost and it turned a 5 hour car ride into a 7 hour one. O____O

On my agenda tonight:

  • Finish my project for Design class.
  • Go to the gym.
  • Upload pictures to tumblr.

Chillin’ with some coffee and waiting to get back into the hot tub when it’s not boiling lava hot. The mountains are behind me here but so is the sun so you can’t see anything. Got some awesome shots of the sunrise this morning, I’ll post them later with some other pictures. :>

Anonymous asked: You look really amazing!!

PS: Your room is totes cool. I love the tapestry!

Why thank you Ms. (Mr?) Anon. I love it too. :>

Step 1 to Genuine Happiness: Clean Room

The state of my room reflects the state of my mind pretty much exactly. So over the course of this week I’ve been slowly cleaning my room (because I’ve been way too busy/lazy to do it all in one go).

Here is what it looked like before (yes I know it was atrocious):

And this is my room now:

MUCH better. And I feel so much better going in there. I guess my room was such a mess because for a while there I only went into my room to change or to sleep. Now it’s so relaxing and wonderful. I love it. :>

BTW, I finally got my fancy new camera. It rocks.

Anonymous asked: As I am reading your last post.... GOOOO YOUUUU. :) I hope your midterm went well! :)
It's SO hard to focus on your goals of weight loss when you have a million other things to do. And i find that in the busiest times, my motivation gets squeezed out of my brain so I have room to think about something else. So I will be sending you reminders of why losing weight is worth it. Motivational Reminder #1: Swimsuit season is coming up.
-Fitbud

My midterm went really well, I think I aced it. I’ve been really productive this week and I love it! :D It’s amazing how much less stressed I am when I get stuff done before the last minute.

And thank you for the reminder! Speaking of which, I’ll be in a swimsuit this weekend, but it’s just in front of my family so IDGAF. :P

We’re going to the Smoky Mountains this weekend and renting out an awesome cabin. I’m so excited! The cabin we’re renting has a jacuzzi and a heated pool. I have a feeling I’m gonna be spending a lot of this weekend right here:

Awesome.

And there are a bunch of hiking trails around there so I’m gonna go on a hike with Sam and take tons of pictures.

Anyway, thanks for the messages, they really cheer me up. :)
